1st annual cracker camper van beethoven camp out
The First Annual Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven Camp-out.

Sept 9 and 10th 2005.

Pappy and Harriet's Pioneertown Palace.

Pioneertown California

The members and staff of Camper Van Beethoven, Cracker, The Pioneertown Palace, and Pitch- A-Tent Records are pleased to officially announce the inaugural event of what we hope becomes a longstanding tradition. This Event has three main purposes

1) To bring together as many members of the greater Camper Van Beethoven family. These are the bands and artists that grew out of the camper van Beethoven fold or worked with us over the years, or are simply our friends.

2) To Celebrate our many connections to this area of California.

3) And also be able to showcase some of the better emerging artists from the Low Desert, High Desert and Eastern Inland Empire.

We like to think of this as an alternative to the Coachella Festival. A more home grown and homespun version and of course much smaller.

Time and Place
Sept 9th and 10th

Pioneertown is located about 5 miles from Yucca Valley. It is in a valley in the mountains above yucca valley. The scenery is stunning, and just as good as anything you might see in Joshua Tree National Monument. There are a multitude I hiking biking and offroad vehicle trails nearby. Bring some toys.

The Pioneertown Palace is a legendary high desert biker honky tonk. Located right at the eastern end of town. It serves food from 11- 10pm. There is an indoor and outdoor stage. This is an all ages venue.

From the Inland Empire and LA: I-10 East to 62 East to Yucca valley. Turn left on Pioneertown road. Follow road up to next valley. You canít miss it.

From Coachella Valley/ Low Desert take I-10 west to 62 East. . Turn left on Pioneertown road. Follow road up to next valley. You canít miss it.

From Victorville/ Barstow. 247 east. After but before you reach Yucca Valley

Turn right on pipes canyon road. When the road ends in a T turn left on Pioneertown road. Again you canít miss it.

The events will begin around 7pm on Sept 9th.. We will be using both the indoor stage and the outdoor stage. Staggering the bands so that none overlap. Saturday things will begin around 1pm shutting down around midnight.

So far the confirmed bands include Cracker and Camper van Beethoven. Other members of the family that will be playing include: LP, Monks of Doom, Johnny Hickman (solo), Greg Lisher (solo) Jonathan Segel (solo), Glider (featuring members of Counting Crows), Chris pedersens, Roger Clyne (of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers) and many more.

Ticket Prices and Accommodations.

A full weekend pass is $40. this includes 'Dry' Camping on the grounds of the Pioneertown Palace. Approximately 2 1/2 acres.

Daily passes are $25 dollars

We Tentatively have scheduled a local punk rock/ indie matinee for Saturday afternoon.

If this does come about, tickets will be in the 8 to 10 dollars range for the matinee only.

Day passes and Weekend passes get in free.

Tickets are on sale now at

Pitch A Tent

Also all members of Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven will be available for CD and Poster signing at 4pm on Saturday inside the bar.
